i revisit the intumuscent cataract management in this film. I usually divide the intumuscent lenses in to two variants. One group has pockets of fluid cortex which can be aspirated out and in this group the risk of radial extension is not high.On the contrary there is another variant of Intumuscent cataracts in which there are no pockets of fluid cortex in between the lens fibres , infact the the entire lens fibers will be swollen and the cortex will have a more jelly like consisitency and this subgroup runs a higher risk of radial extension of rhexis .The differentiating feature in between the 2 variants in the intumuscent Cataracts is highlighted. Few tips about the two staged rhexis is demonstarted and the vertical chop technique of nucleus division is demonstrated.
